+ The Mars Shuttle +
In my school I walk casually into the cafeteria. Instead of the long line that is usually there, there are only one or two people (I recognize only one person as Joey Gerard, from school). I stand in front of the counter, surprised to find that the only things available are chocolate-chip cookies and report cards in violet packages. I leave, wandering down the hallway where my religion class was. When I enter that room, I see the desk is on the wall directly in front of the door. Sitting in it is my french teacher, Mr. MacDuff. I walk toward it and stand in front of him. He is looking through soem papers, but eventually looks up. I realize there are two others on either side of me.
He announces to us that there is a chance we could be on the 'Mars Space Shuttle' for the upcoming trip to Mars. then, he aks each of us what our qualifications are and what reasons we have for wanting to go. Although I cannot remember what the other two said, I replied, "I need to see the stars up close." Mr. MacDuff laughs, and I scowl slightly at him. Finally he says, still laughing, "Ok, ok! As long as you keep a journal for this trip." I agree and leave the room. As I walk again toward the cafeteria, I begin to have second thoughts about going.
