+ The Alien Things +

I am in the front hall of my house with my Mom, standing in front of the window by the coatrack. She tells me she saw "a thing" outside earlier. I look out the window and into the darkness of night. there's an alien there, about three or four feet tall with pink, splotchy skin and very large, round white eyes. His hands are three fingered with two large fingers that have knobby ends and one short thumb-like finger.

Surprised, I point and my Mom says, "I'll get the camera!"

I shine a flashlight on him and he squints and tries to block the light because it hurts his eyes. He doesn't seem very healthy.

We run outside and my Mom follows the street left, claimings he had seen something. A cat chases the thing she sees into the front yard of the (left) neighbour's house. I call out, "Let the cat get it!"

When the cat catches it I run up and chase it off only to discover thatthe cat had been chasing a gecko with a very long tail. "It's just a lizard." I say. My mom takes a photo with an instant camera and when we look at it, it not a lizard at all; it's the pink alien from before!
